Brandon Presley For Governor Announces Over $1.1 Million Raised in July, A New Record For The Campaign

Presley For Governor Raised $3.4 Million This Year

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

August 1, 2023

Nettleton – Today, the Brandon Presley for Governor campaign is announcing over $1.1 million raised during the month of July. This is the largest month of fundraising for the campaign to date. The campaign has raised over $3.4 million total this year and closed out the fundraising period with over $1.5 million cash on hand.

This past month, the Presley for Governor campaign has released three TV ads, telling Brandon Presley’s story of growing up poor in Nettleton and how he will cut taxes for working families like the one he grew up in. And today, the campaign released a new ad holding Tate Reeves accountable for his role in the largest public corruption scandal in state history. The campaign continues to out-organize past Democratic candidates, engaging more Mississippians in every part of the state to talk to their neighbors earlier than any other Democratic gubernatorial campaign in recent memory.

“Brandon Presley’s message of cleaning up corruption and cutting taxes for working families is resonating all across Mississippi - and that’s why our campaign is announcing record-breaking fundraising that will keep our foot on the gas as we prepare to send Tate Reeves to the unemployment line come November,” said Ron Owens, Campaign Manager for Brandon Presley for Governor. “It’s clear that Mississippi families are ready for a leader like Brandon Presley, who was raised by a single mama and understands who they are - unlike Tate Reeves who only cares about his well-connected friends.”

For historical comparison, Brandon Presley for Governor raised more than triple the previous Democratic nominee Jim Hood, who reported $283,143 in contributions for the same period in election year 2019.
