As Mississippi Hospitals Shut Down, Reeves Stages Another Stunt
Following the news of Tate Reeves’ desperate election year stunt, Gubernatorial Nominee Brandon Presley released the following statement.
Nettleton - Following the news of Tate Reeves’ desperate election year stunt, Gubernatorial Nominee Brandon Presley released the following statement:
“If Tate Reeves really cared about ending the hospital closure crisis he created, he would call a special session and expand Medicaid so working families can get the healthcare they need. Tate Reeves has had 12 long years to do something about Mississippi’s hospital crisis and 47 days before an election is too little, too late for the hospitals that have cut essential services, lost jobs, or are on the brink of closing altogether.
“Today’s announcement is nothing more than an election year stunt and just more proof that Tate Reeves is a craven, failed governor who will always look out for himself and his political career ahead of the health of Mississippi families.”
BACKGROUND:
This year, Tate Reeves has already tried a cheap band-aid for hospitals - and he failed to deliver for struggling hospitals across this state.
Months ago, Tate Reeves laughed off a question about the hospital crisis and for months has refused to comment when asked about hospitals cutting jobs, slashing services, or shutting down altogether.
The CEO of Delta Health slammed Tate Reeves for his inaction, saying, “We don’t understand why Tate Reeves doesn’t understand why he needs a healthy workforce.”
